Today's pick: Red booties!

Red booties have been a huge trend this year and easisy gained their place in my heart - just like any red shoe. They add a great pop of color to a monochrome outfit (which I tend to wear a LOT). I've recently seen this amazing Rag&Bones pairs on TSwift and knew I needed to find a pair for the upcoming season.

Top 5 street style looks// November-December

While out and about, shopping in NYC with boyfriend Cody Simpson, Gigi Hadid wore this casual winter look. I like how she often wears denim on denim - something not often seen on the street. The fuzzy coat and high boots gives the look a more trendy vibe to her outfit.

NYC definetly gives people inspiration because Bethany Mota was in the same city as Gigi when she wore this cute, wintery outfit. I like the simple combo (black bottom+white top+black boots+grey coat) Beth chose for this outfit and how she stayed in the same collor range but added a pop of color by wearing a deep, berry lipstick.

I'm convinced Taylor made heads turns when she walked on the pink carpet of the Victoria's Secret fashion show in London a few days. She looked stunning in her futuristic ice princess white gown with a sexy tight-high slit on the side. This dress by Zuhair Murad was perfect for the event.

These past weeks I've been loving Gigi Hadid's street style as you can see. In thi spicture, she was, once again, in NYC and wearing that same, white/cream fuzzy coat. But this time, she added a layer - a black cardi - and a pop of color - a royal blue top. The look was finished with some killer boots with metal detailing.

And lastly, let's talk about Ari's winter white outfit she wore to the Billboard Woman Of The Year even in NYC (wow, lot of thing happening there in this post). The simple, silky two-pieces set was a perfect match with the fur jacket, both being soft, chic textures as the heels added the last elegant touch to the outfit.

How I style: Fur vests

Fur vests have been everywhere this season - and last fall/winter - on the catwalks and on the streets. Over sweaters or leather jacket, it's the perfect fall accessories to have this season. I've recently got one - thanks to Black Friday sales! - and I am in love. It's so chic looking and can easily jazz up an outfit. And of course, it keeps you warm during the cold season.

Top 5 Street style: October

While in London, Ariana took out her fur jacket to fighet  the cold London air. They said fur and high heels were only forthe catwalks but she pull it off amazingly. The overall look is so simple but chic at the same time. Perfect for fall.

Once again, Miss Grande is in my top 5 favourite street style of the month. This outfit was worn arriving at the Heatrow airport earlier this month. You can never go wrong with a fur pea coat and hight heels, right?

Will she stop being so perfect? Miranda's style amaze me. She can pull off everything. Everything. The distressed boyfriend jeans paired with a more edgy bralette and a simple crisp white shirt thrown over as a cover up and she still manage to look fabulous.

This month like the others, Miss Swift seized to impress me with her outfits. I always struggle to pick my favourite of hers - there's so many fab ones every months, it's insane. That checked matching set she wore to the BBC studio in London to perform for a Live Lounge was one of my favourite. Fall Taylor is my favourite Taylor. That and red carpets.

I love Bethany's simple yet cute outfit she wore when leaving the Dancing with the stars studio for rehearsals. I've recently been loving lighter washed jeans and this striped crop sweater is perfect for a casual fall day. How cute are those kitty ears?

DIY: Ripped/Distressed jeans

Ripped  jeans are very trendy this season but sometime, they can be a little overpriced. I'm not gonna pay sixty dollars for a pair jeans with a single rip on the knee, that's just insane. I hightly suggest you to use an old pair of jeans - or buy a cheap pair - and rip them yourself. This way, the rips will be at the right places and we cost you a fraction of the price.

What you need

  • A white coloring pencil
  • A pair of scisors
  • A nail file or sandpaper
  • A paior of old jeans

How to do it

  1. Put your jeans on and trace a line where you want the rips to be. Don't worry, the white or the pencil will wash off in the washer. Make sure to trace the line on top of your knee and not directly on it because the rip will break at some point if you do that and make a huge hole/mess.
  2. Once the hole is done, use the nail file toloosen some strands of the fabric to make it look like it's been worn out. (You can also use the side of the scisors but it's more risky to stab yourself by doing that, lol.)

Some people still confounds ripped jeans and distressed jeans. They are not the same thing. A pair of ripped jeans have an actual hole whilst teh distressed jeans don't. They still have strings hanging on the jeans. Here's how to distress a pair of jeans

What you need

  • A white coloring pencil
  • Scisors
  • A pair of tweezers
  • A pair of old jeans

How to do it

  1. Put your jeans on and trace a line on the places where you want your distressing to start and end. If you want it to be larger or smaller in some places, you have to trace a line there too.
  2. Take you jeans off and place them on a straight surface. With the scisors, cut on the lines you made to make inscisions in the fabric. Make sure to cut the line as straight as possible to not cut the horisontal strands.
  3. With the pair of tweezers, pull on the vertical strands and take them off. It takes some time but you need to be patient to distress a pair of jeans. Once allthe vertical strands are off, you are done.

Review: The Nudes palette by Maybelline

Over the summer, Maybelline came out with a palette which only contain nude colors. When I first heard about the news, I was really excited to get my hands on it and try it. It took me a good month to find it in stores but I finally got it.

I had high hopes - not that high since it's drugstore - for this product but when I swatched the shades on my hand at home I was a little disapointed with the shadows. They are not very pigmented but I've seen worst.  They are decent if you're starting in the makeup area and wants something practical and compact instead of buying a tons of single pots but I kinda regret buying it. The quality is not even close to the Naked palettes from Urban Decay.

Review: Naked3 palette by Urban Decay

I bought this fabulous palette while I was on holiday. While being in Sephora, I was indecisive about which palette I should buy and ended with the Naked3 by Urban Decay. I like the unique theme of the palette: rose. These rosie shades are no what you usually see in other palettes. I honestly think Urban Decay killed it with this one. We can all agree that this palette is original and new since there's not one like it. My favourite colors are Strange, Dust, Limit, Nooner and Blackheart. I am not a fan of darker colors anymore but Blackheart is amazing. It's a very dark purple with pink glitters.

Here's my three favourite looks with the palette:

Look number one

1. After priming the eye, aply Limit in the crease and downward to form a V with a large fluffy brush. Blend till there's no more harsh lines.

2. Aply Dust on the middle of the second third of the lid with a flat brush and blend with a fluffy one.

3. Aply Strange on the last third of the eyes to the tearduct and onto the browbone.

4. Draw a cat flic with a gel or liquid liner.

5. Tightline with a black pencil and aply mascara to the top and bottom lashes.

Look number two

1. After aplying the eye primer, start by aplying Nooner all over the lid and in the crease with a fluffy brush and blend. Aply the same color again and blend.

2. With a pencil brush, aply Blackheart messily at the top lashline and blend. Aply a couple time till the color is dark enough and give a smoky effect. (you can also blend a little bit of Darkside if you want it darker)

3. With a black pencil, line the lashline and blend with a pencil brush into the shadow we just placed.

4. Aply Blackheart under the eye and blend.

5. Line both waterline with a black or dark purple pencil.

6. Aply mascara.

Style inspiration: Taylor Swift

For a long time I've been hating on this girl but I have to admit, her fashion sense has been on point over  the last months. Both for summer and fall along with red carpets. I like her pin-up style - I'm not soo keen on her vintage dresses but they are nontheless beautiful. Recently she's been daring with her style by wearing crop tops and jumpsuits or even matching separates but it looks lovely on her. Here's some of my favorite looks of her from both fall and summer season and events.

Sans titre #767

I love her old Hollywood red carpet/events style. It's diferent from all the trendy and badazled dresses you always see on red carpets. Making a top ten was a really hard task for me. Recently, as I said before, she has been trying more trendy pieces like these midi dresses and crop top+maxi skirt.

Sans titre #766

When the colder season arrive, Taylor and I are very much alike. We both love mixing colors like maroon, navy blue or any other dark colors together. Plaid, strippes and polka dots are also a big part of my warderobe. I like that she has been incorporating booties to her warderobe, it give her a more grown up look. Let's not forget about the hats.

Sans titre #765

Summer wise, flowy dresses, highwaisted  shorts and now crop tops and playsuits/jumpsuits has been been Taylor's most worn pieces for this year's season - well, for now at least. For the summer time, I am loving her 50-60s vibe and that she also incomporate more modern pieces into her look.

DIY: Jewlery hanger

I've seen this type of jewelry hanger in stores - everywhere really - but they are on the pricier side adn for a simple object, that's dumb to pay that much for somethign you can easily make yourself at home with not much suplies and save a lot of money. Let me show you how!

What you need

  • 10 wooden chopsticks
  • A piece of wood
  • Hotglue gun
  • hot glue sticks
  • Black&white paint (you can use whatever colors you want)
  • Ribbon
  • Pearls
  • Gems and jewels

How to do

1. You have to start by painting all your wooden chopstick with white paint and the wood piece with black paint (two coats each) and then them let dry.

Step 2

2. You take eight of the wooden sticks and glue them around another one. Hot glue the last one on the top

Step 3

3. Once it's dry, you can now glue your bigger stick made of wooden sticks in the center of the black painted piece of wood and let it dry.

4. Now, it's time to decor! Take the ribbon adn glue it around the big wooden stick.

5. Finall, add some pearls and gems to the ribbon.

I hope you liked that DIY, don't forget to send me a picture on instagram (@Millskitty) or Twitter (@Millskitty_1D) adn I'll make sure to like or RT it.

DIY Cake stand

These type of stands can be overly expensive but here's a way to do it yourself and save a lot of money. This is one of the easiest DIY's I've ever made to be hionest, haha. Let's start.

What you need

  • A large plate
  • A medium size plate
  • Acrilyc crystals (craft store or dollar store)
  • A clear cup
  • A hot glue gun and glue sticks

  1. Put the larger plate on a table and with the hot glue gun, glue the cup in the center of the plate. You have to be quick with the hot glue because it dries pretty quickly.
  2. Place your acrilyc crystalsinside the cup.
  3. And to finish it off, glue the last plate on top of the cup. Be careful and make sure to glue it on the middle or else, it'll look weird.

And voila, your cake stand is done. Let it dry overnight to make sure it's fully dried and then you can put whatever you want on it. I chose my favorite nail polishes along with some jewlry but it's up to you. Don't forget to send me your picture and tag me if you do this DIY, I wanna see yours.
